The Joyce Aiko Miyagishima Memorial Scholarship was created to honor Joyce’s memory and dedication to her family and community. Throughout her life, Joyce embodied love and kindness through action, as demonstrated by her commitment to social justice, her reverence for the natural and spiritual world, and her empathy for others. This scholarship will be awarded to a student who reflects these values in their everyday life: one who is committed to standing up for others, who is dedicated to caring for the planet, and who strives to keep the memory of their ancestors and Japanese American culture and history alive.
